Superior Millennium System Delivers Fast, High-Quality Results for Diagnostic Imaging Department
Logan Memorial
Logan Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce innovative new equipment in our Diagnostic Imaging Department. The Millennium MG/MC system provides a full range of nuclear imaging studies. With its state-of-the-art digital technology, this system provides the highest quality diagnostic precision available to assist physicians in timely and accurate diagnosis.
Nuclear medicine studies use a special camera to observe or map radioactive material that has been injected into the body. After the radioactive material has had time to gather at the body organ of interest, the patient is positioned under the camera. Common areas of the body that are studied are the heart, thyroid, bones, brain, lungs, gallbladder, gastrointestinal areas and kidney function.
The Millennium's dual-head digital cameras transmit superior results and decrease overall scan time. Patient comfort is improved, because they do not have to remain immobile for long periods of time. Automatic body contouring follows individual body anatomy, maintaining the minimal distance between the moving detectors and the patient. The fully adjustable table allows for easier patient positioning, faster access in emergencies and less likelihood of claustrophobic reactions. It can comfortably support patients weighing up to 400 pounds.
Whether your physician refers you for a cardiac, bone or full-body scan, you can be assured that Logan Memorial's Diagnostic Imaging Department has state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment ready to serve you.
