Russellville, KY (May 25, 2018) – Logan Memorial Hospital announced today a $4 million renovation and expansion to the emergency department (ED). The project will increase the number of patient beds in the ED and also improve the hospital’s facilities by expanding the waiting area and a complete renovation of the existing ED department. All hospital services will remain open during this project, which is estimated to be completed in February 2019.
“This is truly an exciting time for Logan Memorial Hospital, the community and the entire region we serve. The expansion of our emergency department demonstrates our commitment to investing in the hospital to enhance services and meet the needs of our growing community for generations to come,” said Jim Bills Hospital Chief Executive Officer. “We will keep the community informed of the project’s progress, and thank you for your patience during the construction process.”
The emergency department will be expanding, increasing the number of beds by 4 to 10. The ED also will add new state of the art equipment including more monitoring systems, LED lighting, electrocardiogram (EKG) machines and a new trauma room.
During construction, Logan Memorial Hospital will post temporary signs to help guide patients and visitors to the correct parking areas and entrances. Emergency room patients will enter the hospital through the front doors and utilize the front lobby waiting room.
