Russellville, KY (April 1, 2021) – Logan Primary Care today announced that Kelly Tate, M.D., has joined its staff and will be offering primary care services to patients throughout Logan County and the surrounding areas. Dr. Tate brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to Logan Primary Care.

“Dr. Tate has years of experience in treating a range of primary care health issues, and he is an excellent addition to our team,” said Janie Davenport, interim Market Director for Physician Services at Logan Memorial Hospital.  “Primary care is an increasing concern in Logan County and our surrounding areas, and Dr. Tate’s expertise will be important as Logan Memorial Hospital strives to meet our region’s evolving healthcare needs and making communities healthier.”

Dr. Tate joins Logan Primary Care from Hopkinsville VA clinic, where he was the medical director for 12 years.  Before Hopkinsville VA clinic, he was a family practice physician at Pennyrile Family Physicians in Hopkinsville and held many positions and privileges at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. 

Dr. Tate graduated from University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Tate is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has served on the board of the Pennyrile Medical Society. 

He and his wife live in Hopkinsville.
